De passada aprendrem una miqueta més, que mai està malament:
el nom google és un joc de paraules entre el nombre googol (googol)13 (Terme improvisat pel nebot de nou anys de Edward Kasner, Milton Sirotta, a 1938, Que representa el 10 elevat a la 100) i les ulleres (goggles).
Hi ha també un motor de recerques per a imatges, grups de notícies i directori. La tècnica que permet situar una pàgina en una bona posició d'un cercador és el posicionament Web(Conegut també com PageRank) Patentat per Google.
