Relentless steps to get back at a graphic designer

DESIGNERS

Do you have a lot of pent-up anger? Do you need an effective way to de-stress and also need a logo? We have a solution for you! That solution is called a graphic designer and he is surely one of the few people who can help you right now. It is a proven fact, 9 out of 10 graphic designer clients recommend it and many even leave massage therapists and gyms, that is a good way to relax and also… they are cheaper!

Below I share with you some guidelines for beginners, although yes, try not to let any graphic designer know them:

Typography never fails with the graphic designer

It is probably the most hurtful item you can use against your victim. If he decides to use a Helvetic font, ask him to change it to Arial, and if that doesn't work, go to the next level: Ask him for Comic Sans, I assure you that this is already a relentless attack. You will have it a little more difficult if he had already chosen Comic Sans for your design beforehand. If this is your case, it can be for two reasons:

  • The designer has realized what your plans are and a movement has been anticipated ahead of you. Believe it or not they can be very strategic.
  • The clamp is gone.

Whatever the case, don't worry, you can still kill your designer in other ways.

Preparations and planning can put you out of the game

You need a layout, a logo, a poster, a flyer ... Whatever it is, you can make your designer end up hating his work, your project and you. To achieve our objectives we can resort to different alternatives:

  • If you need photographs or material from which to start as logos, make sure to send it to them through pixelated images in JPG format with low resolution and dimensions. Try to make the background of the logo difficult to cut with Photoshop. Avoid black and white colors.
  • An old school trick is to include the images within a Word although I will give you details later.
  • Do you need more specific instructions on what you want? Great! Now is your golden opportunity: Make a sketch on a napkin and send it scanned. If your cat or your five-year-old can participate in it, all the better. Of course, try not to spend more than two minutes on your sketch.
  • Try not to let the designer fully understand what you want, so in the future you can ask for more and more modifications. If he sends you multiple versions, try to avoid them, flatly refuse to pay for that. I don't know, give it your imagination as we wear it, we do it well: Take buts out of sizes, colors, fonts, spacing… I know it might not be an easy task but hey, it is what it is. You can tell him to include photos inside your logo, that will drive him crazy.

The Office Package: Major Words

Have you stopped to think about the possibilities that Office offers us? Word, Powerpoint… we are talking about bigger words and you know it. That your designer needs a logo? Office what does an image need? Office What needs a brefing? A napkin. Are you getting it right?

The truth is that by now I have met clients of all kinds. People who are limited to a simple JPG or sometimes even a PSD or ... a vector! Believe me, there are people like that, but you have to think big. Take a couple of them and choose to include the source documents in a Powerpoint file and if you already want to curl the curl make sure that the quality remains at 72 dpi like this, without any other option, it will contact you again to ask for a higher resolution. When this happens send him an empty e-mail and then send it with a lower resolution. It does not fail!

Go with an eye

Your designer is probably trying to abuse your ignorance. It will include margins, stupid whitespace, and endless line spacing. But why? exact, so that it costs you more money when you take it to the printer. He will tell you that he does it to make the composition more legible, clean and professional, but don't believe his dirty lies. Designers hate you, they also eat babies, raw and baby minced meat. So make sure I keep the margins to a minimum and the text to 6 points in size. Suggest that he use many different fonts and pre-established powerpoint drawings and many, many photos (if you don't know how to send them to him, read the previous points).

Take care of that vocabulary

Don't you know how to convey what you are looking for? Take note:

  • Something is wrong, I don't know what it is but something is wrong.
  • Lacks spark.
  • I am looking for a design that is sexy.
  • I want graphics of those that when you look at them you say ... That really is beautiful graphics!
  • Can you make it a little more internet?
  • I want it more dynamic.

Let's not forget the colors

To choose your corporate colors, try to make them more than four non-negotiable and also to be chosen at random. You can ask your mother, your brother, your daughter and the one from the tobacconist what their favorite color is. If you lack a color that convinces you, look at your feet: Your shoes never lie.

A classic: Deadlines

By now you should know the saying "I want it for yesterday", well that. Try not to stress too much with the instructions you have given him, he should have things unclear, so you can now withdraw and have done your work. Leave him his space to stress and eat his head, it would be a detail on your part, although the day before delivery send changes, the greater those changes the better. Try to check everything, colors, fonts ... and if you feel uninspired, look at your feet, that never fails.

These are a few phrases that I am missing to include:

    -It looks very rough
-How much do you charge me for a web page that is not very complicated and that does not take a lot of time? Make it look simple but beautiful
    -Put a Red on
-Not if you take so long?
