I think we had never defined it or tried to understand it from its definition, so here we go:
The term minimalist, in its most general scope, refers to anything that has been reduced to the essencehim, stripped of leftover elements. It is a transliteral translation of the English minimalist, which means minimalist, that is, it uses the minimum. It is the tendency to reduce to essentials. It also applies to groups or individuals who practice asceticism and who reduce their physical belongings and needs to a minimum, it is also the meaning to simplify everything to a minimum. This meaning becomes clearer if it is explained that minimalism actually means minimism. The term "minimal" was used for the first time by the British philosopher Richard Wollheim in 1965, to refer to the paintings of Ad Reinhardt and other objects of very high intellectual content but low formal or manufacturing content, such as the ready-mades of Marcel Duchamp.
Very important to the unsuspected limits the first sentence, the one I have left in bold. Minimalism is essential, and the essential thing in a web page is that the message reaches the person who enters, everything else is dispensable.
After the jump there are 60 pages left with the loose, minimalism in its purest form, beauty, simplicity, art.
