This series of photographs come from Kinfolk magazine which contacted Aaron Tilley and Kylew Bean to recreate that moment when something disastrous is about to happen.
The project emphasizes the curious relationship between what the mind perceives and how the body reacts. Anticipation causes the body to release adrenaline, even if nothing really happens, and this reaction is believed to be connected to the fight-or-run response that was so essential to our ancestors' survival.
The photographs are designed to create the sense of anxiety and discomfort as we usually anticipate those disastrous events that are about to occur. A really excellent job in photography and in the composition of the hand of Bean, the director, who is in charge of creating those inopportune moments that we would not like to see ever happen, such as the example of the white shirt in which he is about to fall a drop of black ink.
