alex trochut was born around 1981 in Barcelona. He studied Graphic Design at Elisava, and began working as a freelance and illustrator in 2007. Alex Trochut's illustrations, designs, as well as fonts, take a modern notion of minimalism but above all his work is eclectic and the result of a mixture of very diverse variants and shades. According to the author, his work philosophy is "more is more" so in a way he tries to take minimalism to his ground, sometimes contradicting it and under the main objectives of his style is the recreation of elegant constructions, the broad level of detail and the transmission of concepts such as indulgence and care under sober control. He currently lives between Barcelona and Brooklyn and today I would like to share with you an example of his work. It is a typeface called Raw Type. As you can see, it is a very creative set of capital letters that he developed together with the design of the Note Graphy page.
The result is tremendously inspiring and curious as formality is mixed with artistic abstraction and the instantaneous. It's great because this example balances the balance between readability and functionality with the artistic license and the aesthetic component.
