Are you a creative person?

Creative person imagining

Creativity is much more than a more or less theoretical methods with a practice, creativity is a way of life, an active principle that we can use in all facets of our life, not only professionally. Are you a creative person? or do you want to be?

The creative look at the world It implies that we get rid of shields, parapets, raincoats, and other elements whose sole objective is to avoid our own transparency and minimal personal relationship, our personal involvement in the creative process.

Flee from memorization and repetition of diagrams, stimulate the imagination, freely associate ideas, have a critical analysis and generate solutions. That is what the creative person does.

Creativity is the ability to create something, to introduce it for the first time, make it born, or produce something out of nothing. When we talk about advertising, it is about providing a solution never seen before to a communication problem, the transmission of information about a product, a service, an idea, a person ...

Find your own creative path

They say that the chameleon does not know its color until it is in a vacuum, because the same happens with creative people. They are in constant search of their own meaning and existence, of the objective in their work, building their own lifestyle ... Through their creations, they define themselves, they contribute everything they absorb as sponges from their clients, friends , environment and society.

Although it is good to know that there are many theories and studies on the subject that try to define what a creative person is like, in the end they are all testable by our own feelings as creative beings. In other words, there is no single definition of a creative being, each one has its own way and way of being.

For example, many of these theories tend to define the creative person as dominant and even aggressive, when this is a trait that is not present in all creatives and, much less, in artists. While it is true, it requires a certain courage and daring to open new paths, a dose of leadership and perseverance that dresses creative people with a certain power, with a scandalously strong presence.

According to the University of California, - where there have been quite a few studies on the creative person and his traits -, the creative person is a deliberate, reserved, hard-working and meticulous person. She has an image of herself as a responsible, decisive person and almost inevitably feels some egotism and leadership.

What is certain is that energy is an essential trait in all creatives when facing a job. We give everything, as there is no tomorrow. We work hard, but with passion. It is for this reason that energy multiplies. It is similar to being in love, saving the distance.

Do you feel identified?

A great emotional and rational intelligence is basic for a creative. Moreover, it is about the balance between both hemispheres, - for my way of seeing -, providing creative solutions to problems but with a rational, almost scientific background. Have you ever thought about the similarities between scientific and artistic minds? Although apparently the opposite may seem, both the scientist and the artist are in constant search of new paths and new solutions.

The creative person has a high appreciation for aesthetic theories, for the content from which they can learn and from which they can be inspired to continue innovating their creativity. They are the basis of work, the place to start building a tomorrow.

The creative is an independent person, both in action and in thought, who takes his ideas to the last consequences. It is somewhat introverted at times, as ideas are often gestated alone, although they love to share them. It is for this reason that creative teamwork (which I will talk about in another post) is sometimes so complex.

I want to warn that this article is a mixture of personal opinion and data collected in studies, since I have been researching the subject for some time. Please, let no one see it as indoctrination because it is not my intention at all, it is to encourage the debate to which you are invited.

There is an issue that I think is interesting to highlight ... Creativity is a gift that not everyone has, that can be polished and improved, that can be educated and can be more or less exploited, but it is very, very difficult to acquire it if not you have it as standard. I do not think that I know something that can be acquired as someone who learns to swim or ride a bicycle, it is more a skill that you have or you do not have and you have to be aware of it. There are many ways to be creative but you are or you are not, and in this profession there are times when that is forgotten and not everyone has that aptitude

Totally according to dashaft, this "gift" begins to be seen in childhood, which is when it begins to develop and enhance, acquiring it later is very complicated, and it is difficult to reach a powerful level ... but what we must not forget is that you have to continue developing and enhancing it throughout your life, because when you "get comfortable" you tend to look for the easy and fall into the common, you stop being creative to be a machine. =)
