Iggy Pop strips naked for a life drawing class

The study of human anatomy is vital for painters and cartoonists in their training as well as in their entire artistic career. This study is perfected by passing through an art studio where we can perform natural drawing of models who pose for sessions of an hour or two to even perform some rapid 3-minute sessions in which, rather, the main line of action is sought.

Iggy Pop is an artist for nothing conventional that he has delighted us with his music over many years and that he has been one of those musicians who like to claim, while trying new facets in this search for new forms of expression. So much so that the body of this rock legend has been used for an art class where 21 artists had him naked to make natural drawings.

Feeling watched for an hour or two by a group of students or painters who focus on the details of the pose or the line of action is something quite exhilarating. Something that Iggy Pop himself wanted to experience in this proposal from the Brooklyn Museum and conceived by the artist Jeremy Deller.

Drawings created during class will be part of a exhibition imminent in fall 2016. An incredible proposal to the surprise of the 21 artists who gathered that day in such a special class where Iggy Pop made poses totally naked to be the source of inspiration for all kinds of students, artists and those who are retired.

A class conceived by the British artist Jeremy Deller and led by artist, cartoonist and teacher Michael Grimaldi. You have the whole proposal from Instagram itself of the Brooklyn Museum to be aware of the exhibition for fall this year, if for what it was, you were around.
