An elephant family sculpted on the tip of a pencil

Yesterday we were commenting again on the tiny, the small and that craft that finds minimum spaces to express concepts or simply show another point of perspective. 24 hours ago, Kim Clough delighted us with a display of all kinds of tiny sculptures related to culinary art and now we are in the same with the work of another artist.

Cindy Chinn now indicates us as her first sculpture on the tip of a pencil He was from a train and this led him to go viral on Facebook and the Internet. He even appeared on television to begin taking orders, answering questions, and conducting interviews. Now he brings us another pencil, but with the detail of representing a family of elephants.

This representation has led her to the same same quality that permeated that train that made it viral on the internet. It is one of his most elaborate works and is a request for the Museum Epiphany Elephant. The design started with a simple elephant, but began to develop it to integrate an entire family of elephants crossing the Serengeti. A job that took days to find us with a tiny sculpture that shows an entire composition.

In order to get to such detail and precision he needed the help of a 90x trinocular, which it's basically a microscope which can be configured to work in a wide field. It took him a while to focus, but once he got used to it he was able to start sculpting the elephants in great detail as seen in the images.

You can even appreciate how he also uses the pencil wood to sculpt the upper part of the trees and part of the ground where the elegant family goes. You have on the web y on Facebook to be able to follow the work of Cindy Chinn and her passion for pencils.
