Adobe goes collaborative and introduces a new photorealistic 3D design tool

Felix

Project Felix is a new kind of graphic design application designed to create things like composite product snapshots that are integrated into 3D assets, such as models of a new product, or 2D, such as backgrounds. Produce photorealistic renderings combining various elements with the V-Ray engine.

Felix will take care of figuring out where the horizon and surfaces are in a 2D image, ensuring that 3D objects are located appropriately on the scene. It will also be in charge of identifying the lights in the background so that the lighting of the rendering parts is consistent and at the same time as the 2D parts.

A new design tool that has been presented at the annual MAX conference from Adobe in Sandiego and that is designed to be used even by artists who are not used to dealing with 3D, with a range of models, lights and materials available from Adobe Stock. A beta of Felix will be released later this year for Creative Cloud subscribers.

Experience Design (XD) is another new app that is in beta and that is dedicated to design, prototyping and the ability to share through the app and mobile. A new beta is available with support for defining layers and symbols that are shared across multiple screens. Adobe maintains that it is prioritizing the development of mobile and collaborative.

Another of Adobe's talks has referred to «Machine learning» with a framework called Sensei which is using some very powerful features. Among some is the capacity that will allow you to visually search for images similar to the one you have. Tomorrow we will discuss some of the other developments.
