Video Tutorial: Affinity Photo Beta Review with Precise Crop

Accurate cropping-affinity-photo

Affinity Photo Beta it is presented as the application that will overshadow Adobe Photoshop. Although I do not agree with this, it is true that the application is very powerful and is designed for professional graphic design and work. In this video we are going to release it in its trial version and we are going to see how we can make a precise cut in a totally easy and intuitive way.

At a first glance after installing it, we realize that its interface is the most similar to that of Photoshop And if we have a certain level in the Adobe application, it won't cost us much to adapt to it and handle ourselves fluently and reliably.

What we are going to do to create a precise haircut is going to be the following:

  • First we will go to the tool selector brush. We will try to create a selection of the silhouette of our character as precisely as possible.
  • Then we will click on the upper button to refine this selection.
  • We will choose a modality of brush in Matte and we will modify the size of our brush to then give some brush strokes around the girl's contour.
  • We can play with all the parameters that appear in the pop-up window of edge refinement to apply the features that we deem appropriate and work on the cutout. For example, we can add a white halo around the silhouette, although in this case it is not necessary.

As you can see, the operation is very intuitive and simple. We will try to do various tutorials in the future when the full version is released. At the moment we have this trial version for Mac users that you can easily download from here
