If you are one of the geeks of the lettering or in general of the vintage typefaces or alphabets You will know as I do how difficult it is to find sources of inspiration, reliable and quality.
Every time you have a request or need to do some lettering work it seems that it is tremendously difficult to find 'retro' fonts of quality and that really have that nostalgic and original touch that evokes the past, in this post I have decided to bring you a image selection de vintage alphabets that have been extracted from fonts original woodcuts.
All of them, due to their type of creative commons license, can be modified so feel free to use the images to vectorize them and use them in your projects or even print them, cut them out and create a collage, in my case I have brought you one varied selection of the 80 alphabets available on this page, I recommend you visit it, either as a source of inspiration or to extract resources from it.
Selection of vintage alphabets:
In this first selection I bring two quite different alphabets, but because of their aesthetic differences they work quite well together, first, the one on the left is the typical alphabet with clear western reference, this alphabet so decorated and with so much typographic stain can combine very well with the alphabet on the left, Well this in addition to having a letter width much less than the previous one does not have a marked serif and regarding the typographic tone that it generates, it is much softer than the alphabet that accompanies it.
In this selection I have decided to highlight these two fonts due to the differences in style they have with each other and with respect to the others previously mentioned, in the case of left alphabet, this has a great visual impact Given its more rectilinear style serifs, the other alphabet, despite its ornamentation, has a much calmer appearance.
