BatMan: The Killing Joke receives R rating

Batman: The Killing Joke is a new animated film that he does not want to stay in any movie and not go through the sieve to show the story based on the Alan Moore comic.

The Killing Joke becomes the first film in the DC Comics franchise in receive R grade and the second Batman movie (The Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice version was the first).

The Killing Joke is an original story that finds the Joker and Batman taking on the Capture Batgirl First. The original comic was published in 1988 and has stood over the years until receiving criticism with references to its alleged misogyny.

Sam Register, president of Warner Bros, comments: “Since the beginning of production, we have encouraged producer Bruce Timm and our Warner Bros team to stay true to the original story. The Killing Joke is revered by fans, particularly for those adult themes and situations. We felt we had a responsibility to present it to our core audience like this as an animated film that represented the story we all know well.«.

Batman: The Killing Joke will make his World Premiere at Comic-Con in San Diego this coming summer, with a Blu-ray, DVD and Digital HD release later this year.

The producer, Bruce Timm, was the one handled nearly every character in Batman: The Animated Series, which was released on Canal + in the early nineties. So he will join his experience to take us to a Batman: The Killing Joke that could become a good animated film for adults if all goes well, which is what it seems at the moment.

One of his curiosities is that for the Joker they have had Mark Hamill, known as Luke SkyWalker in Star Wars and who will put his special accent on this peculiar character.
