Bruce Timm is a character designer, cartoon animator and American producer who gave another air to the popular Batman characters, back in the 90's when the Batman animated series was launched, which we could see here in Spain thanks to Canal +. An animated series that marked a before and after for popular characters such as the Joker, Two faces or Harley Quinn.
Timm maintains a minimalist and angular style strongly based on his love for comics from the '50s and' 60s and the art deco style of architecture. Timm made almost every character in Batman: the animated series with the exceptions of Mr. Cold, The Riddler, Man-Bat, and The Mad Hatter. Best known for his work in animation, his first dream was to become a comic book artist for Marvel. Although his dream was not achieved, he produced miniseries mostly for DC who were interested in his artistic work.
Batman: The Animated Series it was what raised him to the popularity he has today, a series that won two Emmy Awards, and that was acclaimed for the adaptation of the comic starring the superhero Batman. Among the artists he drinks from are Jack Kirby, Harvey Kurtzman, Jim Steranko, John Buscema, Wally Wood, Frank Frazetta or Dan DeCarlo among others.
Then I leave you a sampling of Bruce Timm's characters for Batman: The Animated Series. Some are missing but they are the most important, at least as far as drawing is concerned, where Timm captures all his creativity and good work.
Batman
Batman returned with a minimalist style and marked lines with pronounced angles that marked a before and after for this popular DC Comics superhero.
Joker
With a few timm lines knew how to mark the character of the same Joker As we can see in this reproduction, which follows the pattern of Batman in terms of firm and well-given lines.
Batwoman
Not Michelle Pfeiffer herself gets closer to what Timm offers in his own Catwoman that shows his most sensual and wild side in this own print by Bruce himself.
Harley Quinn
Rogue, crazy, and totally bucolic is the character that Timm permeates Harley Quinn, one of the favorite characters of the writer.
Two faces
I could not miss Two faces in this memory to the created characters by Bruce Timm from Batman the Animated Series.
Batgirl
A spectacular Batgirl, although it must be said that Timm seems to have a predilection for dark characters of the Batman comic or at least he recreates more in them.
James Gordon
James Gordon appears simple and without any touch, mentioning the above of "good" characters without anything say "spark."
Poison Ivy
What is it about the evil and the antagonistic that Bruce Timm likes so much? Poison ivy or Poison Ivy is the answer.
