Naara is the co-founder of Scribble Outburst, a company dedicated to the world of graphic design and the development of the most creative products. Together with Daniel, he has started to create fun peper toys for all kinds of celebrations and special occasions. The originality, the comic and relaxed character accompanied by a great delicacy and quality has brought them to a large number of clients and they have become the illustrators of the most special moments of some people.

Next, we are going to chat with her for a while so that she can tell us about all this in greater depth:

  • Good morning Naara! tell us from the beginning what do you do?
  • I am mainly dedicated to designing custom stationery. I have always been very film-loving and fanciful, so it is quite easy for me to connect unlikely ideas to create something fun and even coherent at times. I'm also an illustrator so I can spend hours drawing if the result is going to be fun and surprising.
  • How did your adventure start?
  • I discovered a book of papertoys about 6 years ago and started playing with the templates on the cd. As I am a graphic designer and I have the editing programs, I customized them with my illustrations for my friends. One day I gave some friends some papertoys for their wedding and I posted them on a blog (quite shabby by the way). I began to receive messages from people who also wanted their papers for their weddings. It also happened that I had just been unemployed, so I had time to experiment and try different designs.
  • Where did the idea of Papertoys come from?
  • As I have said, I am a very moviegoer and I have always liked to give personalized gifts to my friends, according to their hobbies, things they would like to do, jobs, special celebrations, things like that. I thought there are people who have ideas and imagination, but no means or ability, or neither. An audience that needs an Umpalumpa to help them surprise their friends and family. And I found the idea of creating paper dolls of real people as if they were toys, with their packaging and everything, very funny. So I designed some prototypes that would serve as a base and a packaging and we started making noise on social networks.

  • What exactly do you do in Rapture Garabato?
  • I take care of facebook and some portal where we advertise. My job is to deal with clients to find out what they want to convey and what ideas they would like to capture. I design the "portraits" in vector drawing, and then the rest of the elements (clothes and objects that have been requested) to complement the set. And finally the packaging, which we also personalize. I go to print, assemble and prepare everything to send it to the client.
  • How can a user access your creations and order from Arrebato Garabato?
  • Right now through private messages on facebook, twitter, weddings.net and a provisional form in our domain. (The web is something that we have pending, and it brings us a bit of head. But we hope to have it ready shortly)
  • How long does the creation process usually take?
  • With a partner, without extra accessories apart from a bouquet (in the case of brides) from 4 to 6 hours. Between design and assembly. Not counting the fact that the design of the faces, we consult it with the client, and there are a few days of mailing with modifications. When the faces are ok, we continue with the rest of things.
  • What materials do you usually use in your products?
  • Mainly paper and cardboard. To "dress" some pieces, especially for wedding couples, special imported papers, which we buy in specialized stores in Barcelona. We also decorate the set with scrap materials when the design requires it. The printing is digital so that the color lasts infinite.

  • Starting your own business related to the world of graphic design in these times can become a challenge. What advice would you give to all those who consider developing an idea independently?
  • Tomorrow's problems, I'll take care of tomorrow, today I have solved today's. He goes on to say that you have to focus on the positives of daily work. Money is indispensable and essential for the company to function, but it should not be thought too much about it, only what is fair and necessary. If not, you neither sleep nor enjoy yourself. Important! : Have colleagues by profession, and do not be afraid to outsource or ask for help. Maybe you will earn less money but that way you don't leave any clients lying down, and feedback with other companies generates publicity, which generates more clients.
  • Based on your experience in this adventure, do you think there are some basic ingredients to face the challenge?
  • Personally I believe that challenges are faced better or worse, depending on the qualities of each one. Cultivate patience, above all, and be positive. We must not let ourselves be overcome by discouragement and get up off the ground every time we fall.
  • What are the mistakes that a creative entrepreneur should avoid?
  • I think it is precisely the opposite. You have to make mistakes because it is the only way to learn. You don't have to be afraid to screw up and you have to prepare, like someone who takes an emergency kit on an excursion. Asking someone you trust and with experience, how to solve compromised situations or caused by mistakes will make you prepared when you make your own.
  • Your dolls are curious to say the least, what role does innovation play in Rapture Garabato?
  • It is important, we try to innovate in the assembly above all, looking for ways to save time and be able to serve more customers. Cutting plotters, for example, or 3D design machinery… they open doors for new products. We don't want to be boring and we have to innovate. For now we are investigating and observing results.

  • What makes your stamp different from other professionals in the same sector?
  • We do not put limits to the imagination of the clients. We have closed prices so it costs the same for a simple couple, than a couple with three dogs, a baby in their stroller, a guitar and a physiotherapist table. Normally we should charge the extras separately, as others do, because they involve more hours of work and assembly, but for now we prefer that the result surprise the client and the accessories are essential due to the emotional charge.
  • Tell us three words that define what you do.
  • Design, good rolling and cool.
  • What projects do you have in mind? Any long-term goals?
  • Reach the children's audience. There is something there related to rag dolls and music.

From here we wish you good luck with your project and we congratulate you for such a creative, curious and cool work;) Good luck for everyone! And you already know that you can locate these artists from their website in this direction. Take a look because it doesn't have any waste!
