Video Tutorial: Double Exposure Effect in Adobe Photoshop

Dobe-exposure-photoshop

In today's video tip we are going to see a tremendously simple effect. The magic of this effect really does not lie so much in its shape, but rather in its content. This is the double exposure in Adobe Photoshop. Something tremendously intuitive and simple that offers us an infinite variety of possibilities and that for that very reason is going to require more conceptual work. It is a challenge and a good formula to obtain a groundbreaking and forceful result. Do you dare to make a double exposure proposal?

The steps that we are going to follow in our video tutorial are the following. Don't miss our recipe!

  • The first thing we have to do is look for our images. Make sure that the one we are going to use as a mold (in this case, the one for our characters) has great light contrasts. That there is an area perfectly flooded with shadow and another with light. The ideal thing would be to work with images that have a homogeneous and white background. On the other hand, make sure that the photograph that you are going to integrate into the silhouette is an image with patterns and quite dynamic: A city full of skyscrapers, a tree full of branches, an explosion ...
  • The next step will be desaturate both images and play with the dodge and dodge tools. The objective is to accentuate the contrast of our main image in order to obtain a greater integration.
  • The next step will be to import a photograph, which we want to integrate within the outline of our characters. We will automatically give you a blend mode in raster or in lighten.
  • We will use the tools of underexpose and overexpose again if necessary and also the eraser.

We already have a groundbreaking result!
