These emojis are very recognized in social networks and WhatsApp messages, being very famous today, but for those of us who use Adobe Photoshop it is essential to know how to place them in our work and to know how to insert emojis, the first thing we must know is that they are the pictograms.
What are pictograms?
The pictograms are figures that will give us a type of characteristic for a specific symbol.
They may be special characters with some landscapes, spaces, ornaments and markers and is that pictograms are commonly used for purposes is a word. These can be activated in Illustrator from the menu we give to window and then to text, that's where we are going to select pictograms.
En InDesign we are going to look for the Text tab and we will give it to Glyphs and finally in Photoshop we are going to go to the window and we will give it to glyphs.
The novelty is that Photoshop supports SVG fonts And the difference between these fonts and OpenTypes is that they provide us with several colors and gradients in a single pictogram, this being something great that will be very useful.
Photoshop in its latest version has the Trajan EmojiOne font and color concept, these emoji fonts being a set of SVG fonts. The use of emoji fonts can include in your many colorful characters and graphic documents, such as flags, smiles, plates, signs, people, animals, brands and food.
Equally it is possible to make compound glyphs such as creating the flag of a country with the combination of BR font glyphs EmojiOne or you can also change the color variants of a person. These compounds can be created double-clicking on a glyph and then twice on another, this will make the glyph insert into one.
For example, you can double click on glyph B and twice on glyph R and so you can form the flag of Brazil and for the flags of the United States, Bolivia and France you can do the same procedure when creating them.
But the question that many of us have is how do we insert the glyphs?
First of all with the Text tool, we are going to place the insertion point where we are going to insert a character.
Then we will activate the glyph panel and it is in that same panel where we will have the ability to select the font family and after adjusting the font category, you go on to select the source code to see everything.
If you selected one One Type font You can open a pop-up menu of many alternative glyphs, you do this by pressing and holding the glyph box. One of the advantages of OpenType fonts is that depending on each font you select, complex treatments of some languages will be supported, such as the links between the characters.
After you find the glyph you want to insert, you must double click on it, then the character will appear at the insertion point of the text.
Now if you wonder how can you replace a character with a pictogram, we will tell you that this is much easier than it seems and that the first thing you have to do is select the character to replaceIf this character has at least one alternative pictogram, a menu will automatically be displayed with all the alternatives that you can use.
Then you must click on the glyph right in the context menu you chose and it will be replaced. If the glyph is not in the contextual menu you must click on the right arrow and to replace the character selected you must double click on a glyph right in the glyph panel.
