UEFA has revealed the logo and branding design for the next tournament of the European Championship of Nations to be held in London. Young & Rubiam have been selected as the agency that has been commissioned for the branding and logo of Euro 2020.
The logo design focuses on a bridge that represents the unity between the 13 cities that will host the first 'Euro for Europe'. Hélder Pombinho, creative director for Y&R, underlines the importance of the visual identity system found in the union message by saying: "where bridges become the common denominator that brings together the host cities".

The trophy was named in honor of Henri Delaunay, the first UEFA General Secretary, who was the one who had the idea for the european championship, but died before the first competition in 1960.
A statement from UEFA from its website reads: 'at the heart of the new visual identity of the championship is the bridge, a simple and universal symbol of connection. Each of the 13 host logos will feature a unique iconic bridge in the city in question. The London logo, unveiled today, incorporates the famous Tower Bridge, while the rest of the 12 logos will be revealed one by one in individual releases.
