From realism to surrealism with Adobe Photoshop

Although at first the surrealism it flooded the letters and was generated in them, it took a very short time to invade and soak up other fields of art such as sculpture, film, photography and above all painting. Of all the characteristics of this movement, it was one of them the most representative and we would almost say a basic condition for any creation to be baptized as a surrealist creation. This is the confrontation against logic, the challenge against reason and what the reality that we have built dictates. In this model there is room for all the elements, objects and ideas that go beyond the empirical, the sane, the common and demonstrable through experience. The surrealist knows or feels that the truth is behind the world that we consider real. A good way to approach that truth and transcend the accessory reality that we experience is by paying attention to dreams, to the unconscious. This current is almost a sister of psychoanalysis and gives importance and rigor to the interpretation of myths, visions, the wonderful or the mystical. It will be through fantasy and oneirism that we will be able to access that which remains hidden from the senses.

At the same time, bourgeois morality and formal behavior become something opposed to the movement, considering that these are a form of repression and to muzzle the true nature of the human being. It was born as a revolution, as a movement that seeks to destroy the foundations of the society of the moment to build a new and doing a facelift to philosophy and the way of understanding the world. Undoubtedly, one of the most inspiring, rich and also more present currents in current graphic design, more specifically in photography.

Next I would like to share with you the work of Fran Carneros, a set of digitally edited photographs that flirt with surrealism in a very successful way. Honestly, when I saw them online, I couldn't help but share them with you because they are very inspiring. Enjoy them!
