During the advancement of technology, in our society, hundreds and thousands of video games have been developed that, over the years, have become a success in our current generation. We have all played a game that we are talking about, and if not, all at some point in our lives, we have seen posters or banners where something has been promoted.

In this post, we are going to introduce you to the world of video games, we are not going to show you the history of these posters but of the main theme: the videogames.

Surely you already know what it is, but very few know its true definition. A video game is understood as an interactive application oriented to entertainment that, through certain commands or controls, allows simulating experiences in the screen a TVcomputer or other electronic device.

The platforms give rise to an experience where the adventure or the main plot revolves around physical challenges, where they require a high level of precision from the players to advance through complex structures, generally facing different enemies. One of the most famous is undoubtedly Super Mario Bros., developed by Nintendo in 1985 and by its creator Shigeru Miyamoto.

Shooting or chasing

It is usually one of the broadest genres. His name in English is shooters and, refers to the action to shoot. It should not necessarily be a firearm, since any of these games focuses on the progress of the main character in the use of some power that is fired towards the enemies, either in the form of a projectile or lightning, etc.

Adventures

Adventure games are undoubtedly the genre most used by users. They are those games where there is always a story involved, and the story is the main protagonist. Like any story, it must contain a good narrative and some events. The protagonists, the setting, and the plot are usually the main elements of interest in this type of video game.

Role

Role-playing games are often confused with adventure games, since they are quite similar but, unlike the latter, their focus is the characters and their evolution along the history. This genre is especially popular in countries like Japan, although there are many RPG communities around the world.

Sports

They also tend to belong to the action genre, sports games faithfully reflect the rules of the original discipline, but not at millimeter levels, but rather use certain licenses, such as the tiempo progress faster than reality.

This year was very important in the era of video games, since Nolan Bushnell, began to market with Computer Space, a more renewed version of Spacewar.

The 8 bits

In the 80s, the video game sector was growing rapidly, to all this, arcade video game machines were added. Rooms full of this type of machines were created and designed. The first consoles took place in the 70s.

Systems such as Oddyssey 2 (Phillips), Intellivision (Mattel), Colecovision (Coleco), Atari 5200, Commodore 64, Turbografx (NEC) stand out. On the other hand, games such as the famous Pacman (Namco), Battle Zone (Atari), Pole Position (Namco), Tron (Midway) or Zaxxon (Sega) triumphed in arcade machines.

Later, Japan opted for consoles, creating what we know today as Nintendo. It was launched in 1983. This is how two years later the first Nintendo video game, Super Mario Bros, came out and with it, the invention of the famous Game Boy.

3D consoles

In the 90s, this generation saw a significant increase in the number of players and the introduction of technologies such as CD-ROM, an important evolution within the different video game genres, mainly thanks to new technical capabilities.

2000s until now

In the 2000s, Sony launched the Play Station 2 while Microsoft entered the console industry by creating the Xbox in 2001.

This year inventions such as the Game Boy Advance are also added.

Call of duty receives the name of an action and chase video game where the user takes control of a war crewman who must fight and win the battles he faces. Currently, this video game already has more than 5 different versions, in each of them new battles and new ways of competing are generated. Some of his posters stand out for their striking colors and for their typography so characteristic that it deciphers the user, what the video game is about.

Uncharted is one of the most famous adventure games of the moment. The game revolves around the life of Nathan Drake an adventurer who, whose mission is to get the biggest chests and face those enemies who snatch these treasures. Currently, this game has more than three different versions, each of which faces alone or is accompanied. The posters usually contain dark colors and its characteristic typography makes it one of the games where history prevails all else. It is also one of the most aesthetically evolved games.
