How to crop an image in Photoshop

Adobe Photoshop is a great tool known to all and that it is updated every year from Creative Cloud. These improvements come from all sides and tend to focus on certain aspects. There are some parts that have not been touched for a long time, while others continue to be updated as happened to the new document window.

Today we are going to take a quick look at the Snipping Tool which remains the same as ever, although when we compare it with older versions of this mythical program, it has undergone some improvements to take into account. So let's get to it with a video and a quick rundown of how to crop an image in Photoshop.

I am not going to go into much detail and, as you would say, let's get to the point with it. I have to say that we can take advantage of some extra advantages that the cropping tool has, such as being able to choose a ratio in advance, such as 1: 1 for cuts for social networks such as Facebook or Instagram, or use a type of grid with which to better deal with the cuts that we are going to make with Photoshop.

  • Click on the C key to access the Snipping Tool.
  • On top we have the extras bar in which we find the format said (1: 1 or 16: 9 in panoramic) and the possibility of adding a different grid to the one that comes by default consisting of two vertical and two horizontal lines.

  • If we don't want to use any of those options and we want to select a provided clipping format, press uppercase while making the selection.
  • Click on enter, and we will have the clipping done.

We can always go back with control + z and make another type of selection in a fairly simple way. Another option is return to the classic format from the same circular button that you will find next to the grid and that allows you to activate the classic mode, activate the clipping shield or show the cropped area.

Everything is a matter of testing until we are in front of that interface with which we get along better and that it is capable of taking full advantage of this great tool for photographic design and retouching.
