Apply layers in Photoshop
To begin with, it is essential to understand that to perform a GIF we must have our image or illustration segmented into different layersIn other words, each action or object that we want to add to each sequence must be located in different layers.
Create a video: step by step
First of all, we must go to the main menu and follow the next route:
- Window - Timeline
A new window will appear at the bottom, it is the editing table. We can work with the timeline o as frame animation. The latter will be easier for you to handle, and it is much easier to visualize.
Like layers, we must add a frame for each scene. With the box selected, we will indicate which layers are going to be seen. Must turn visibility on or off (eye).
How to create the layers
An alternative, if you have to create the composition of each scene, is to use Illustrator. Then we will add each layer as an image. You can too combine stock images with your own compositions. Duration time
To achieve an optimal result we must pay attention to elements such as duration time of each scene. Normally we are based on seconds, we indicate the duration from the arrow that is located below each square. If we click, a window will be displayed to indicate exactly the seconds. We can give you time different to every scene.
We can also define the times we want the action to be repeated. This feature is more typical of GIFs, although we can also use it if we want our video to play in a loop.
Export video
To export the video in Photoshop, we must follow the following route:
- File - Export - Interpret video ...
When the properties screen appears, we must select the option that the file creates for us in .mp4 format.
