Intelligence Made Design: 31 Must-Have Ji Lee Logos

exit

There are words and concepts that can offer us word games and images in a relatively simple way. A good example is the selection that I bring you today. A series of proposals by the Korean designer Ji Lee that made him gain a lot of recognition on the net and it is not strange. Their associations turn out to be powerful and shocking enough to capture their visual and conceptual winks. The truth is that I have fallen in love with their projects, they seem intelligent, fresh and original.

I'm sure these logos will arouse your curiosity so I'll tell you that you can find more of this author on their social networks (Facebook, Instagram y Twitter) or directly in your Official Site. As a curiosity, I will tell you that he is a lover of bicycles, jazz and puns, although the latter is quite obvious.

The force of gravity is literally shown to us when letters fall under their own weight before our eyes.

anthology-mag-blog-films-ji-lee-tunnel

The entrance and exit of a tunnel can be perfectly defined by the double "n" of the English word.

Capitalism

A letter is enlarged and grows before us in a portentous way while the rest of the letters that make up the word appear out of balance and weakened.

exit-word-as-image-by-ji-lee

Our letter X becomes a living entity and runs away from the word Exit through its extremities, while the letter I seems like an open door.

fastfood-650x464

The density and body of the letters that make up the word fast food grows in the same way that the body of the consumer of this food does.

ill-650x464

Ill means sick, here we see the representation of the word through a doll resting on a stretcher.

The letter G split in half represents the cut that the artist suffered on the ear.

The first letter is turned upside down, easily mistaken for an exclamation point or a person upside down, both indicators of creativity, ingenuity, and emotion in the creative process.

Robbey translates to robbery. Literally the letter E docks the Y.

Smile (smile) is represented through the combination of the letters i and l to create an emoticon winking and smiling.

The curvature of the letter S is used to represent the wavy shape in an ocean wave.

One of my favorites! The V and the A as ascent or descent indicators and symbols on the buttons of any elevator.

jilee-book_03

The letter S has decided to abandon its position because it is number 13, we are talking about superstition, what did you expect?

jilee-book_04

A very graphic way to represent sexual relations in any orientation.

Mens room

The tail of the letter R appears discontinuously, recalling the man's urination and thus emphasizing that we are (in a somewhat wild way) in male territory.

The first O shows us literally a sunset and the second the appearance of the moon on the scene.

The letters are placed one on top of the other emulating the shape of a unicycle.

A classic, the T of the word justice leans like the balance, the quintessential symbol of justice.

whiplash-rlb-ji-lee-word-as-image-oscar-2015-8

Whiplash means whip, so we can guess that the letter I represents the whip with which the letter P is flogged. A bit sadistic, by the way.

word-as-image-2

The letter M hangs upside down from a spider web in the same way as the superhero.

word-as-image-ji-lee-1

The initial C covers our entire word as if it were a condom.

word-as-image-ji-lee-2

This one doesn't need much comment, does it?

word-as-image-ji-lee-3

The curvature of the letters C and D is used to represent comedy (smile) and drama (sad grimace)

word-as-image-ji-lee-thumb640

This is another obvious so I better not comment on it.

inflation-logo

Our letter O also acts as zero to represent economic inflation visually.

moon-logo

Our two O's appear representing the planet earth and the moon on a black background.

silicone-logo

Seeing the word silicone made up of these two circular shapes (d + o open) we quickly associate it with aesthetic operations and the female bust.

zipper-logo

The shape of a zipper is composed of the union of successive capital E's. Interesting.

Just a clarification, Whiplash is the name of a jazz musical piece composed by Hank Levy and the logo refers to the drums, it represents a drumstick and a cymbal.
