When one has to think about what career do you want to take in your life, normally it is thrown by that one that can maintain an economic sustenance with which to be calm before the own affronts that the existence of one has. Emin Asgarov may be the best example to change that economic security to move on to a passion that he has for wood carving. One of his dreams since he was little but had to leave behind to focus on a career in finance, in which he has been working as a financial analyst for eleven years while looking for overtime in which to experiment with his biggest hobby, size.
Just a few years ago, he finally decided to take that alternative project in a full-time profession, to now create abstract wood sculptures that reflect the exquisite touch of his art practiced for years with great passion.
Asgarov completes most of his pieces in his small studio in Baku, Azerbaijan. It takes two to twelve hours to carve the wood using various tools before you treat them with certain oils. This process removes any remaining oxygen in the wood to permanently preserve the sculpture, and it also accentuates the elegant textures and grain patterns.
It is also inspired by a great variety of cultures and traditions around the world as shown in one of its sizes. Although he always tries to put his grain of sand that comes from his own inspiration and spirit.
