We learn to make our own mockup

cover mockups

With a previous articler we learned the meaning of the word mockup and the importance of its use to present our proposals to the client.

If you are interested in making a mockup but don't know how to do it, here is a tutorial of very simple steps so you can make your own mokcup. Many times we do not find download mockups that suit our needs, or they are paid and do not fall within our budget. In addition, it must be taken into account that these photomontages are used precisely to reduce costs, or have zero cost. Therefore, there is no point in investing money in them. For that reason we will teach you how to use your own images.

Photoshop to make our mockups

The first step to make is export the files, recommended to jpg. Then we will open Photoshop, the ideal program to make our own creations. We will place the image to which we want to make the photomontage.

Once the image is open, we will drag the files in the work table, to later edit them.

Place images

Reference guides

The next step is a recommendation that will help us get benchmarks. It consists of drawing reference lines, that is, marking the perspective "x" and "y" of the photograph so that we can distort the images in accordance with the perspective of the master image.

guides

As we can see in the image, they have been made horizontal and vertical lines of blue color to guide us and make the task easier.

Distort images

Menu

We have two options, either select all the images or go one by one. Once selected, we will go to the top bar and follow the following route:

  • Edit - Transform - Distort

As we can see in the image below, we can distort the objects depending on the perspective we seek. Pressing and dragging the corners From the square that appears we can achieve it by dragging it to our liking.

Example

Be careful because if the distortion is very large, the effect may be strange or distorted.
