Mariano Peccinetti is a musician and surreal collage artist, this author is dedicated to the creation of dream environments by cropping images, mostly taken from documents and magazines of the 60-70 years, which are becoming increasingly important in the new creative currents of our time, making a revival of these decades.
This influence is not only seen in the world of collage, we can also find it in videos of the Barcelona production company, Canada, as are the famous video of the group Tame Impala The Less I Know The Better included in the Vimeo Staff Pick category.
Mariano peccinetti
All his collage shows a great reference to the new and increasingly popular movement lofi which consists in the use in this case of low quality images in order to give a stylistic effect and its own language, close, friendly and warm.
In his compositions the artist uses and usually creates three-dimensional spaces with one or more situations in them, in this aspect you can see the reference of other collage artists such as Richard Hamilton, who also chose to create parallel worlds where the characters take on great relevance as they are mostly located in interior images, highly influenced by cubism and futurism.
This artist generates his dream universe through the use of different motifs that are repeated throughout all his work as they are gradients multicolored, images of the universe and reasons for the nature. All this creation of images taking a person as the protagonist, mixed with natural elements also reminds us of the collage artist of the 80s and 90s Reginald Case that despite not generating such fantastic worlds, his selection of different images is very similar to the one already named Mariano Peccinetti.
Here I leave you a selection of his works and the links where you can find more of his works.
