All those posters can be downloaded in three different sizes to the taste of the «consumer». We can find simple designs like West Side Story, one of the best musicals in film history, or other more complex posters like Africa Texas Style !.
This collection of movie posters is part of an ambitious digitization project. Each of the 10.000 posters are initially transferred to the photography studio, so that the metadata is collected from the poster to create the database file.
Once the poster is correctly aligned with the camera, the height of the camera It has to be adjusted to fit the size of the poster, so that a high definition photo is taken. The photographer has to review the image to verify that it is faithful to the original in order to preserve it. Finally the poster is taken back to its folder to start another.
So far, more than 4.000 posters have been seen online after 1 year of work from Lauren Walker and his team in the photography studio.
Making eThese posters can be viewed and downloaded online allows greater access to preserve them over time. The remainder of the Movie Poster Collection is expected to be digitized in late 2018 and early 2019.
