Ron Gilbert is one of the most acclaimed game designers for bringing gems like the first two Monkey Island installments and that special Maniac Mansion. Some video games made under Lucasarts and that had a special mention in the visual treatment thanks to pixel art.
We started with Gilbert to talk about Navarro, a designer born in Barcelona and that he has created his own world through that pixel art that has led him to work today on one of Gilbert's latest projects. That is why we share some of those work done with great quality.
Navarro also had great admiration for pixel art since he had his Commodere 64 in which he would surely play exceptional gems of video games. His artistic work a lo 8bits has allowed him to work for clients such as Penguin Random House, La Caixa or El corte Inglés.
A designer who has great devotion to pixel art and that in each of his pieces we find an exceptional treatment that can take us to those environments seen in Maniac Mansion or those Monkey Island, from which you can also see that it drinks from the source of inspiration that they were and are.
Octavi leads to his own work own painting techniques with what pixel art is in all its essence. In the same illustration, he is able to show different stories to turn each one of them into something special in itself.
Right now you are working with Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick in the adventure game Thimbleweed Park who has great attention for pixel art, a visual technique in which Octavi Navarro moves like a fish in water.
