The recovery of PET with Veronika Richterová's facilities

Cactus Veronica Richterová

With all the waste we produce on a daily basis, we could do wonders if we only had a little creativity like Veronika Richterová. This Czech artist reinvents PET bottles to create paradises of plastic plants, sculptures and installations.

His trajectory is made up of a decade of working with these plastics, transforming them, cutting them, heating them and joining them with others. So it has developed a very wide production, applying all its recycling knowledge to create pieces of art and design with a very marked aesthetic value.

To do this, he appeals to improve the aesthetics of the material using contrasting colors and playing with the different opacities. On the other hand, it takes advantage of the low density of the material to generate textures and shapes games.

It is yes how it produces animal-shaped sculptures and garden installations with a fantasy sense and playful aesthetics. He has also designed collections composed of consumer objects such as living room lamps, candlesticks, mirrors, tableware and furniture.

During all those years it has managed to collect more than 3000 PET bottles from 72 different countries and has developed its own plastic handling techniques. For this reason he has created the PET bottle museum together with her husband Michal Cihlá. This space seeks to serve as a tool for the preservation of these ephemeral objects throughout history. His collection serves as a testimony to the design evolution of plastic bottles

But as if that were not enough, her interest and commitment to the material have led her to develop a research on PET. Consequently we can find very complete information on this subject on their website. Here he talks about topics such as the production process, through the processing of the east as waste to the exemplification of atypical and original uses.

Here we show you some of their most representative projects. However, if you want to see his entire collection you can visit his site and surprise you.
