The libraries, apart from being sacred places for knowledge and knowledge, have always served as examples of a new type of design in architecture. The walls that keep all kinds of books by all kinds of authors, are usually worth mentioning as it happens in this entry.
Dutch architecture firm MVRDV, which has to his credit the very innovative designs ranging from the Jenga towers in Vienna to the Skygarden in Seoul, they go their own way with their latest project: a library in Tianjin, China that will continue to impress any of its visitors for years to come.
Located in the Binhai Cultural District, and designed in collaboration with TUPDI (Tianjin Urban Planning and Design Institute), the spectacular library houses up to 1,2 million books. It is part of a series of four other buildings that are closely related to culture in general.
La 34.200 square meter glass structure is characterized by an oval opening inside, with a large spherical auditorium that has been called "the eye" as its focal point. This is the very center of the library capable of creating the perfect environment to sit, read and have a good time.
The XNUMXst and XNUMXnd floors are dedicated to reading spaces and on the top two floors are those dedicated to offices, meeting rooms, computers and audio. Its director Winy Maas describes the library as a large open space to sit and enjoy reading with angles and curves that stimulate the different uses of the spaces.
Are photos that show the spectacular design of a library that will not leave anyone indifferent due to its great capacity and an exclusive design that will once again enforce that Dutch firm, especially for this type of building. We have already introduced you to the singular libraries all over the planet from a monograph by a special photographer.
