The floating sculpture that covers the Plaza Mayor in Madrid for its IV Centenary

The Plaza Mayor in Madrid is one of the most emblematic places in the capital from Spain. A space that has completed its IV Centenary, and that since spring 2017 has been filled with all kinds of urban art installations to commemorate those 400 years of life in which its citizens have gathered.

It has been since February 12 that a floating sculpture by artist Janet Echelman the one that has taken all the leading role. Any visitor can, until February 19, find a floating sculpture that expresses a game of warm colors that invite the viewer to take a camera in hand and remember that moment with their friends and family.

In total it is a mesh of 44 meters long by 35 wide and 21 high the one that covers the Plaza Mayor in Madrid. It is made up of thousands of colored fibers that have been hand-braided so that from any perspective you can find a subtle look at the Madrid sky through the mesh.
