The idols of our time have their lyrics higher. And not just because of the songs and what they have in them. I mean its typography. Any fan of Kurt Cobain, David Bowie or John Lennon would like an autograph or a dedication from you. Historical musicians who make a God of his image for a different audience. And everything that surrounds them amazes the world.
This makes many people also trade their belongings. And that everything that surrounds the figure is an added value when selling anything. Like a guitar or even glasses in Lennon's case.
Two designers have had the great idea of choosing them to remember. From their letters, their signatures, annotations anywhere, they have created their fonts for your computer. This great idea comes up with the name SongWritters Fonts. And, although they do not have a great validity for their writing for some work, they are special.
Sad but true
Unfortunately these are no longer available for use or at all. Due to legal rights, large corporations have rejected the idea, on the one hand, non-profit, to continue with more artists. This is due to the complaint for the withdrawal of the already exposed sources of David Bowie, John Lennon, Kurt Cobain, Leonard Cohen and Serge Gainsbourg. With the following writing they make it clearer what has happened:
We've launched the SongwritersFonts project, a series of typefaces created from famous songwriters' handwritings, as a design project. The unique purpose of this was to inspire musicians and the next generation of songwriters to put their imagination at work. But, the unexpected success of this project went a bit too far… We have been contacted by intellectual property rights owners, and are sad to announce that we have to shut down this website because of legal issues. We're sorry to have to say goodbye. J&N

Still we leave you images of this wonderful idea
Although to download this type of fonts we must run into someone, who previously had them to great success. We can at least get an idea of what they did and who knows, maybe inspire someone to do something similar.
Kurt cobain font
Kurt Cobain's lyrics seem inked. By the thickness of the letter. To use it on a computer, we will have the excuse of always having it on Bold
. In fact, to my mind, Kurt Cobain wrote too many letters, notes and autographs, the handwriting seems a bit sloppy. As if just thinking about it, his hand already hurt.
john lennon font
A curiosity about John Lennon's handwriting, apart from being the most legible for a project. It is only in uppercase. Surely for that reason it is more readable. Nor do we know if he was in the habit of writing like that and did not use, at least publicly, the lowercase.
Leonard Cohen
Serge GainsbourgFont
That of Mr. Gainsbourg perhaps, and for me by far the least legible. A very strange and irregular handwriting. With a stroke reminiscent of a pen, which becomes more striking in the 'F' 'G' and 'H'.
David Bowie
In short, a magnificent idea, which was censored by the large corporations that manage, even posthumously, the image of other people. Some letters more complete, with many of the signs, others not so much. Nice work.
