When Image Metrics distributed the samples of their work and the advances in visual technology that they made, there was a revolution on the web and it is totally normal. It is tremendously chilling to discover that the character that appears in this video is entirely made by computer with 3D creation software. The quality of detail is ... amazing? (I can't find the word, because for me personally it is an indescribable work that we find here).
This is neither more nor less than a small preview of what is to come to our world. Computers are evolving as one more living species. In the same way that the evolution of the human being, softwares and hardwares are emerging, link after link on the way to a world dominated by a kind of technological magic that makes us work true miracles.
Not only at the structural level of visual matter (which of course also), but also at the kinetic level, this character gives off humanity for each one of the pores? of your skin. The movements of the eyes, hands, lips, glitter, gestures… I swear that if I hadn't known that it was a 3D animation I would never have imagined it. Is it possible that we will develop this line of work over the years? Of course yes, here we have the proof. I bet what you want that in not long the actor figure will be in a state of extinction (something that I really would not like very much), we are "easy" to imitate, although of course there is still a long way to go. What do you think? What do you think of this line of development in the 3D world? I recommend that you watch the video in 1080p.
(Another of the most realistic videos on the web is this one, although it is well below the first).

In the eyes it continues to fail, only that remains.
We are at the gates of the virtual world 100%…;)
Just an observation:
At the end of the video there is a copyright from 2008 ..., if this was done in 2008 ..., what do they do now (2014)? ...
