When I chose to study graphic design, I was very excited. For a long time I had been attracted to the idea of ​​the way of working in addition to the rest of the incredible things that it has. I imagined what it would be like to spend hours playing on my computer and listening to music, in a relaxed environment where I could read, draw or paint and I loved the idea. However, I didn't think about how much a job of such characteristics would cost, both physically and financially. Although I would choose this profession one and a thousand times more, I would like to tell the new designers who start their way, with what problems will be found.

A good chair

The chair is one of the most important work items for a designer. Especially for those designers who spend 8 days sitting or sometimes even more hours.

It is very important when choosing an office chair or armchair to take into account several aspects. First, take into account the ergonomics. For this reason, it should be noted that they have lumbar support areas, head support and that they are firm but comfortable.

Second, it is essential that you have a functional and adaptable design. This means that it allows to adapt the height, either in relation to the person or in relation to the desk.

Finally, select the chair according to efficient materials and colors. It is necessary to remember that it will be used almost every day of the week and for a large number of hours. Therefore, it would be smart to choose materials that do not spoil with use and are easy to clean, such as leather. In addition to this, I always recommend choosing dark-colored furniture, since light colors deteriorate much faster.

Desktop

The desk is an element that can be chosen with greater flexibility. In this sense, your choice should be determined according to the relationship between material and color. These elements will determine the reflectance index that the desktop can have. Reflectance is the ability of a body to reflect light that reaches the environment. Consequently, this phenomenon influences the user's visual perception and their ability to work, since they perceive these waves that can become annoying. Generally, people who do not know well about design assume that all we do is "drawings" and that we do not study anything. Although the theoretical content of design careers cannot be compared at all with those of an Engineering career; it is extremely important for the designer to have extensive knowledge in various fields.
