The work of Tiago Sillos in the field of infoarchitecture

Render of the house

In this post today I am going to tell you about the impressive work of architect Tiago Sillos. His work in the world of 3D and the renders he takes are really impressive.

I'm not kidding you when I tell you that the stunning picture of the house above is not a photograph! It was created by Tiago Sillos, an architect from Brazil. He has been working in this field for 15 years and his passion for the world of 3D led him to start his own business. In 2013, Tiago and his wife Susan opened their own 3D architectural design studio called Estudio Lumo. "Lumo" means light in Esperanto and was chosen by the couple, since light is the most characteristic aspect of their work: "Our passion is to show the wonderful game that gives light to daily life." While his wife Susan takes over the art direction, Tiago works on the realization of the projects. "Susan helps me focus on my work and points me in the right direction to make the best of every composition I make," Tiago commented in an interview.

Whether on the internet or in real life, Tiago and his wife are always researching and looking for inspiration to make their work exceptional. They follow a very meticulous approach, seeking «References of different light, colors or textures, we understand our work as art and we are always looking for something different. We like to play with the rays of light, giving each scene a kind of magical touch. We believe that adding natural or artificial light to a scene will make the viewer feel like a little pixie, ”they said with a laugh. "Above all we are always trying to produce something unique with our own brand."

About the image at the beginning of this article, Tiago comments that lThe inspiration for this image came from a friend of his who had shared a photo of a house with a pool designed by the Indian studio 42mm Architecture on their facebook. He immediately thought that he would like to create something similar. So he and his wife began to study the entire structure of the house. In testing they found that the sun was shining against the camera lens, producing an excellent and spectacular sunset image. "We are very satisfied with the results we have achieved," they commented.

To make this spectacular image, Tiago used 3ds Max, Corona Render, and Photoshop. For the furniture he used materials downloaded from Design Conected and Evermotion, as well as for the plant and tree models. The whole house was modeled in 3ds Max. To get the render, Tiago used REBUSfarm, an online rendering service, which he had used for several projects in the past. “What surprises me is the speed of the responses and the speed with which they resolve any questions. They are really fast! "

Tiago explains how the entire process was developed for the creation of this photorealistic render.

“We collected all the necessary information about the pool house in ArchDaily, we prepared for the modeling of the pool box and its surroundings. Next, I created a small hill and put the house in the middle of the scene. We import modeled material outside the scene. It was painstaking work to correct the imported material. Gamma correction, among all the other settings, in order to reduce the amount of noise in the scene was a bit tricky. For materials we were trying to simplify most of the texture mappings and many Corona materials. We used RaySwitch Mtl to reduce light noise and load for the GI calculation which was actually quite high in this scene.
