Using-the-Pen-Tool-in-Adobe-Photoshop

The Pen tool happens to be a drawing tool, however much more hides behind this simple appearance, having a versatility that makes it one of the most versatile Photoshop tools.

Today we are going to continue talking about the Adobe Photoshop drawing tools, and in particular about the advanced options of the Pen tool. I leave you with the video tutorial, Using the Pen tool in Adobe Photoshop. I hope you like the entry.

In an old entrance, How to ink and color our drawings with Adobe Photoshop, we saw How to use the Pen tool to ink or make Line Art. By the way, the Pack of Brushes that I use in that tutorial, you can download it from the last part and it will serve you for this video tutorial, as well as to comfortably ink any of your pencil drawings. Let's get started.

  1. The first thing is to open a document that contains a pencil or ink drawing that we want to digitize.
  2. Let use the brush tool in combination with the Pen tool to ink our drawing.
  3. We create a new layer in the Layers palette.
  4. With the Brush tool selected, we go to the Brushes Panel. There we will choose the Brush with which we want to paint. We graduate it.
  5. We choose the Pen tool.
  6. We trace with the Pen tool the drawing we want to ink.
  7. Once traced, we right click and the tool menu that appears, we choose Outline path.
  8. From the dialog box that appears, we choose the Brush tool and we leave the option Simulate pressure checked. We give it Ok.
  9. We already have the drawing traced.
  10. We right click and From the tools menu, we choose Delete Trace.
  11. We can also trace figures within photos, to apply effects such as Blur or Burn.
  12. We just have to trace where we want the effect to go and once the path is closed, right-click and choose Outline path.
  13. From the dialog box that comes out we can choose the effect we want to apply to our layout.
  14. Inside the video tutorial I give a wide explanation to both things.

Without more a greeting and invite you to leave me your comments, requests or suggestions either through the comments on this post or through our Facebook page.
