Video tutorial: Low Poly Effect in Adobe Photoshop, easy and fast

Effect-Low-Poly

Effect Low poly It is one of the most used in futuristic and minimalist compositions. Surely you have seen it at some time and you have been observing the perfection of the geometric finishes in the factions of a character or in any scenario. This effect is the clearest and most accurate representation of Picasso or Braque's cubism in the XNUMXst century digital world and can be practiced with different techniques and various applications such as Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator. In this case we are going to see it with the Adobe Photoshop application.

Although it may seem that it is a complex method, the truth is that there is nothing complex about it, although it does require dedication and some time. The basic steps that we will follow will be the following, take note!

  • We will create a guide for split face of our character by its half.
  • We will give more contrast and hardness to our image if necessary.
  • We will choose the polygonal lasso tool and create a selection with a triangular shape on the character's face.
  • We will go to the menu Filter> Blur> Average.
  • We will repeat the last two previous steps repeatedly although we will do it through shortcuts.
  • To apply the average we will press a Ctrl / Ctmd + F and to deselect Ctrl / Cmd + D.
  • When we make a half of our face we will select it and duplicate it in a new layer with a Ctrl / Cmd + J.
  • We will press a Ctrl / Cmd + T and we will flip horizontally.

Easy right?
