Video Tutorial: Snowstorm Animation in Photoshop

photoshop-animation

In this video I am going to show you how to create a small animation, taking advantage of the dates in which we are, of a snow storm. We will create an unlimited rain of snowflakes that we can export both in animated gif format and in quicktime or other video formats.

The steps? Here they are!

  • We will open the image on which we want to apply the effect.
  • We will create a new layer and press Shift + F5 (We will enter the fill setting). We will select the 50% gray option.
  • We will go to the menu Filter> Noise> Add Noise and give me a maximum amount of 400% in Gaussian and Monochrome mode.
  • Menu Filter> Blur> Gaussian Blur and we will apply an amount of 2 pixels to it.
  • We will press Ctrl + L to enter the level adjustment and we will apply the following values: 160 // 200
  • Menu Edit> Define Motif. We will give our motive a name.
  • We hide the layer.
  • We create a new layer and click again Shift + F5 to give it a value of 50% gray.
  • We will enter blending options, select the motif overlay effect, and choose the one we created previously. We will give it a hatch blending mode and give it a fill opacity of 0%.
  • We will go back into overlapping motif and physically lower the snow, we will see that this succession of snowflakes never ends.
  • We will go to the menu Window> Line time to create our animation.
  • We will export in the menu File> Export> Interpret Video.

Easy right?
