At the CES that is being held these days, the business director, from Youtube, Robert Kyncl, announced that the platform will soon introduce support for HDR (high dynamic range) for your video content. In televisions, high dynamic range, or HDR, refers to a contrast ratio and a greater palette of smells, which allows for more realistic and natural looking images. But a TV is required to support HDR logically, as well as the content in HDR for the full effect.

That means if your television has it, it will be able to produce more light in specific areas of the image than on a normal screen. Samsung, Sony, LG, and Panasonic announced at CES that they will offer HDR support on their televisions for their upcoming releases.

The feature will bring a great improvement in sports shows, as well as movies and TV shows like 'Game of Thrones', which features heavily colored scenes. With this YouTube is the third largest online video service, along with Amazon y Netflix in offering support for HDR. It will be interesting to see how content creators take advantage of this huge improvement.

The announcement came during a speech that focused primarily on the promise in virtual reality and 360 degree video. Robert Kyncl promotes YouTube's efforts in this area, including the project VRSE promoted by the 'New York Times'.
