Makiko Futaki, Studio Ghibli animator, dies at 58

Mononoke

Animator Makiko Futaki from Studio Ghibli passed away on May 13 while being treated for an illness. One of the key cheerleaders of this study, which in these decades is becoming an inspiring source with great animated films to its credit.

Futaki began her professional career as an animator for Telecom Animation Film, on which she worked on Episode 153 of Lupine III: Part II. Aside from Studio Ghibli movies, also worked as an animator for Akira, Wings of Honneamise: Royal Space Force, Milky Way Night Train and Gosenzo-sama BanBanzai !. He also illustrated the covers of the Moribito novels by Nahoko Uehashi.
