It's been just a little while since I've been through these lines to talk of optical illusions and how are one of the elements with which many artists play and they devise a way to create concepts or combine philosophical or worldly thoughts.
We return to it with the artist Dain Yoon who, through makeup, is able to amaze us with those optical illusions that he performs with his own body and hands. A makeup that we have published these same days about some other artist who is directed more to terror than trying to delve into the human as Yoon does with his art.
Dain Yoon uses the makeup and watercolors to merge our perceptions of what is real and what is just an illusion. The 22-year-old student paints her hands, face and neck to create visually fascinating artistic performances that mix parts of herself with objects, environments and her own body.
Many of Yoon's optical illusions are characterized by his eyes and hair that are painted on the palms of his hands. As she maintains them make up his face and in certain moments it is difficult to distinguish what is drawn on his fingers against his own lips, nose and eyes.
Other works include his painted face as if it were a cloudy sky or even a watch, which creates a chameleon effect that is surprising to see. Soaking up that texture or pattern with the rest of the composition achieves a great effect.
Yoon has recently started with the illusion in painting. In the past two months he has been posting quite a few photos and videos of his artistic work that has garnered attention around the world.
You can follow her on on Instagram to find more of these paintings in his body.
Spectacular!
