From night to day in New York in 105 UHD photographs

New York transition

New York is one of the most portrayed cities on this planet, and this is due to the fact that it has a lot of corners as well as panoramic views that are capable of leaving the passer-by who passes with his camera through any of its streets dazed. The same happens in the world of cinema with streets that have passed through mythical films that almost everyone has seen.

Dan Piech, a VAST photographer, and that is specialized in UHD or Ultra-High Resolution photography, now teaches us a different perspective on New York City. Capture its "skyline" in its transition from night to day to show us how this iconic city can change and so photographed by millions of people around the world.

We are before a meticulous fusion work of 105 different exhibitions which were taken at different times of the day. The result is a huge image that shows the dynamic change in light from nightfall until the first rays of the sun appear at dawn.

The photographer's goal was create a photograph in a very special moment, when the city is particularly radiant. We already met weeks ago another of his works in which New York was shown, although from a very different perspective.

He used a long telephoto lens mounted on a gimbal, to carefully take all the photographs for many hours to capture the scene in all its details. If one looks closely at the image, one is able to find all kinds of details from a city that sleeps to how it gets up in the day.

The original image takes 620 megapixels with it and it took him 100 hours of editing. New York Transitions is available for purchase as an imprint on the Piech Company website: VAST Photos. Here you have the link to the photo itself.
