Reliving family memories by "overlaying" photos of the past on the present

Dear Photography

We have already seen some bets of this type in which photographs of the past are taken to place them in the same position on a street in a big city to see how the architecture and the environment have changed. Some curious photos that help us to see the evolution of the places where we usually take a walk or where we have had good times in our lives.

Taylos Jones is a Canadian who has found great passion in a project that he has called "Dear Photograph". With a lot of nostalgia Jones has invited his audience to share his memories in the form of a photo. The result is a series that represents those longed-for times with photos on which other photos are superimposed. In this way, the past is combined with the present in a surprising way.

Jones embarked on this project years ago when he found himself looking at photos from his childhood. He thought it would be interesting to keep some of those photos in the same place where they were taken. It became very interesting for a lot of people who began to contribute their own. Initially, Jones stayed amazed by the great attention that this project was having.

Dear Photography

So he created a website with the same name and due to his inventiveness, that nostalgic touch and his own nature, he became without much surprise as one of the 50 best websites 2011 named by Time.com and selected as the number one website of 2011 on CBS television on "The Early Show."

Dear Photography

Jones' popular website has been turned into a book Spectacular that compiles 140 images that have not been seen before. The passage between the past and the present brings us to a good concept that shows a range of human experiences.

Dear

Another curious experiment, here.
