Concept artist Christo Vladimirov is offering visitors to Lake Iseo in Italy, from June 18 to July 3, the opportunity to experience the sensation of almost walking through water with this exhibition called "The Floating Piers". A dream for the artist until it has finally come true by being built by himself and his team.
A Pair of golden piers created in fabric and some polyethylene cubes that extend for 3 kilometers across this lake forming a huge geometric figure and an almost dreamed-of passage to take a special and different walk through fresh waters. An artistic initiative that uses the environment and that differs a lot from what we have seen lately along these lines.
It will be because of the heat that attracts us these conceptual proposals in which with the background what are the Italian AlpsAny visitor can walk from the mainland from the town of Suizano to the islands of Monte Isola and San Paolo. The road-specific and construction materials allow it to move in sync with the waves as they skim almost the surface of the lake, which also intensifies the sensation when one walks on this very special jetty.
And we are also talking about an 81-year-old Bulgarian artist who is recognized for his large-scale installations in Italy and around the world. He collaborated with his wife, the French artist Jeanne-Claude, and in 2005 he installed the work "The Gates" in Central Park in New York. "The Floating Piers" has its concept in being an original work of art that includes the manufacture, installation and recycling of all the components needed to carry out this work.
