We never cease to be amazed by some of the creations of these sculpture artists. This time eshe is an artist who takes a great multitude of willow branches to turn them into sculptures that fit perfectly into any forest.
This British sculptor named Anna & the Willow, shows us what has been his inspiration to create sculptures inspired by nature itself. A nature that supplies the same material as willow rods.
Anna started working with this material 10 years ago when he took a sculpture course. By working with a natural material, he opened her mind to a new world, so she began to learn the different basket weaving techniques; Here, wicker is also worked a lot in many parts of Spain.
He so enjoyed learning those so traditional skills that he was able to add his own twist to the learning process. The masters of this craft are capable of creating a wide variety of baskets and small gifts, but this artist is capable of creating large sculptures using this very traditional technique.
Your work process passes by many sketches before beginning to recreate the sculpture with a skeleton of metal frames. It is when Anna begins to intertwine a multitude of willow rods to create those beautiful and vital sculptures that you can find in the photos we share.
Some of them pass the 2 and a half meters high to stand like the protagonists where they stand. Just one of them is a woman with a bow and arrow that can be seen perfectly in the forest to merge in a great way.
You can find Anna's work on Instagram y well follow your inspiration processes and mastery of this handy and special material. We leave you with other types of sculptures.
