Transforming garbage into animal sculptures to stir consciences

Bordalo II

In a world like ours in which new products have to be sold every year so that people continue to consume, there is a lot of garbage accumulated in different regions of the planet. Recycling is not the same in Western countries as in Asia, so the garbage that is piling up is used for this artist to denounce the amount of "shit" we can throw to the planet.

To spread this message about what is necessary is that we clean this world that we are leaving full of gray, dark and brown colors, there is a Portuguese artist named Bordalo II, like this other, who create animal sculptures with those remains that we leave ourselves indirectly. His work is very peculiar and he is not lacking in talent, but on the contrary, he is capable of melting all that waste to create an animal in an ingenious way.

Bordalo II, as it is called, you do not need or buy the material, since it is in charge of recycling all that garbage that can be in a plot with an owner, but abandoned. His works stand out for the ingenuity in knowing how to use all those remains and transform them into a work that tries to move consciences.

Those animals do not appear happy at all, but the other way around, a little withered and with sad faces. The truth is that his work is very striking at the moment that one gets carried away by that very original way of using waste, pieces of suitcases or cables from all those electrical appliances that surround us in our lives and that, at some point, will end as waste.

It started with this type of work in Portugal, but now it has expanded all over the world to stop in Estonia or even the United States. A rebellious artist who doesn't need to buy his materials, he recycles them all.
