WeTransfer logo redesign

The service exchange and storage of documents WeTransfer, has decided to redesign its image. The company had not made such radical changes since its launch in 2009.

We Transfer is a service, which allows sharing large files without the need to create an account to share and download a file. It is free if you send files that are not larger than 2GB, this is an advantage for professionals in the design sector. As creatives, we can use this service professionally with agencies and printers.

WeTransfer

It was founded by a team working from Amsterdam and Los Angeles. Their creators they belong to design, marketing and media sector. That the founders are creative is a main advantage they have, since they know the needs of the sector and that is why this service is one of the most used by creatives.

In the redesign, they have opted for a more minimalist change, making alterations to the color palette, typography and interface. The logo was made jointly between the creative director of WeTransfer, Laszlito Kovacs, and the typographer Paul van der lann. As inspiration, he started from the first symbol of 2009.

In its new version, the two main letters of the redesign are in grayscale and your body has expanded with a smoothed finishes, probably to more correctly fit the logo with the illustrations made by the artists. Other adjustments they have made, is the opening of the letter "E" and new curve in the upper area of the "W". As for the word "Transfer", which appeared in the previous logo, it has been deleted.

With this tonality, a more neutral image has been achieved. As the company explains “when your logo is two simple letters, good is no longer good enough. It needs to be perfect, down to the smallest detail. A black and white version should look balanced at any size, and always show its unique look. "
